Mature trees with hollows are extremely important as it aids to offer refuge for the wildlife from the environment conditions and predators, as well as, provide a safe place for bleeding, shelter and nesting. Therefore, the removal of hollows would be fatal as it’ll increase the death and displacement of wildlife. Wildlife that depend on hollows are ‘hollow-dependent; which means they require hollows on a daily basis. Generally small hollows takes up to one hundred years to generate. Medium-sized hollows will take two hundred years to grow and large hollows take even longer.

However, bush fires can also be caused deliberately by a person ( this could include the fire fighter themselves ) People who generally light fires have an addiction as it brings them joy and pleasure to see the bright burning flames.
